Personal Development Programme

Youth Scene in partnership with Lambeth Children’s Fund, delivers a Personal Development Programme for young people in the London borough of Lambeth. This twice-weekly programme supports young people living in areas of high deprivation who are experiencing difficulties at home or at school.

The Personal Development Programme aims to support the personal, emotional and social development of the participants who are encouraged to think about their future aspirations and also deal with issues that they may currently be facing. The programme also enables young people to build new friendships and bridge locality gaps.

Supported by Rainer, Lambeth Youth Council and Lambeth Children’s Fund, and starring local historian Steve Martin, Young Brixton 2007 explores some of the decisions young people make growing up. This short docu-drama made by young people aims to highlight the fun-loving nature of children whose environment and situations often lead to them growing up a bit too quickly.
